Growth Necessitates Integration

E Chapman

Growth is a part of the experience of anything you work towards. Choosing to walk a personal spiritual path and putting the time and effort into it by studying new aspects, practicing ritual on a regular basis, and figuring out what works and doesn’t work for you as part of daily life is going to encourage that natural growth and development. With growth comes change, which can be difficult to negotiate, especially when there is a surge in development. You can feel your soul and your knowledge expanding around you and it can be almost overwhelming.

After a period of rapid growth which can also be termed as expansion around you, it is wise to take time to learn to manage the changes in your life so they become part of you and your daily routines. There is no stopping change, but it is possible to take some control over its pace when it comes to your spiritual practices.

Drawing back in or contracting a bit after growth allows you to take stock and to internalize and integrate all of your recent growth experiences. It is similar to the expansion and contraction of the energy of the Solar Cycle with the different focuses during the Light and Dark Halves of the year.

Being aware that expansion and contraction are normal allows you to take a breath and know you are doing the right things for your personal practice.
